EU - Initiative to harmonize the work of notified bodies started

Within their activities announced for the end of 2025 the EU has started an initiative aimed at harmonising the work of notified bodies.

The "Have Your Say" initiative invites comments for a draft for an Implementing Regulation of the Commission. The draft lays down rules for a harmonisation of conformity assessment procedures, e.g. the information required for quotations and re-certification as well as timelines for the work of notified bodies. The Regulation aims at achieving more harmonised, more reliable and faster conformity assessment procedures.

Comments for the draft can be placed until 2026-01-09.
